Australia’s most famous tourist hot-spots played host to 46 international travel agents earlier this month as part of AOT Inbound’s bi-annual Mega Famil which included twelve nights of home-grown Aussie hospitality in Melbourne, Adelaide and Kangaroo Island, The Whitsunday Islands, The Red Centre and Sydney.

The international agents, who were the highest selling international agents from AOT Inbounds’ overseas wholesale clients, visited and experienced the best on in Australia during the AOT Mega Famil including a Hidden Secrets tour of the Melbourne laneways, a scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef, a Sydney BridgeClimb, The Sounds of Silence Dinner at Ayers Rock and a Kangaroo Island tour.

AOT Inbound General Manager Product Vicki Malcher said that the AOT Inbound Mega Famil aimed to showcase the highlights of Australian tourism to the leading international travel agents.

“The aim of the AOT Inbound Mega Famil is to increase the agents’ knowledge of Australia and to instill confidence when selling the nations tourism attributes to their clients.

“It’s important to re-affirm Australia in our agent’s mind when they are planning international travel for their clients and what better way to do so then experiencing it first-hand, this way they can share their experience with their client,” Ms Malcher said.

The participating international travel agents came from the United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Spain, France, Italy and the United States of America.

“The majority of the agents had never been to Australia before so it was a great eye-opener into the diversity on offer.

“The famil would not have been possible without the support of our supplier partners and Tourism Australia, Tourism Victoria, Tourism Queensland, South Australia Tourism, Tourism Northern Territory and Tourism New South Wales,” said Ms Malcher.
