AOT congratulates Austravel on Tourism Australia partnership

24th of March, 2014

The AOT Group is delighted to congratulate our long-time major UK based client Austravel on being selected by Tourism Australia as a headline partner for the upcoming ‘Two Week Walkabout’ campaign.

Tourism Australia‟s „Two Week Walkabout‟ campaign will run from the start of April and suppliers have the opportunity to provide the AOT Group with exclusive offers that could be used to create inspirational multi-centre holidays around Australia.

“Austravel is one of AOT‟s top producing clients in the UK and it is wonderful to see them rewarded with this terrific opportunity” said AOT Chief Operating Officer and Company Director, Cinzia Burnes.

This Tourism Australia campaign is one of the largest undertaken with a Tour Operator in the UK, with joint marketing activity in excess of $1.4 million. The activity will be multi-channelled, with the highlight being exclusive branding for Austravel on ‘Nothing Like Australia’ TV adverts.

“Austravel are delighted to have been selected by Tourism Australia as their headline partners for this exciting campaign to run for the month of April 2014.” said Karen Joyce, Austravel General Manager.

The aim of the campaign is to overcome the traditional barriers driving perceptions that Australia can only be a „trip of a lifetime‟ from the UK, and to position Australia as an achievable two-week holiday destination, directly challenging the common held perception that you need at least a month to „do‟ Australia. By showcasing inspirational itineraries that you can enjoy in Australia in a fortnight, the aim is to break Australia down into bite-sized chunks, altering the notion that you have to „do‟ the whole country in one visit.
